The requirements to guarantee an optimal live broadcast are the following:

  • 100% charged battery.
  • GoPro & Facebook App on our Smartphone.
  • Wifi connection or an internet access point through our Smartphone.

In 1-2 minutes depending on our smartphone and WiFi quality or mobile data, we can start the retransmission to Facebook, Look and enjoy this video!

Other recommended accessories:

  • Pro 3.5mm Microphone Adapter (HERO7 & HERO8 Black compatible). This accessory allows you to connect a wide range of microphones through a 3.5mm connection and at the same time connect the camera to power or a Powerbank through the USB-C connection, allowing us to extend the duration of the retransmission.

  • Multimedia accessory or Media Mod (compatible with HERO8 Black). This new accessory allows attaching light bulbs, microphones or LCD screens through its 2 shoes. It also includes 3.5mm connection for external microphones as well as HDMI and USB-C port.

In the past, an RTMP URL was required to stream live on YouTube, but with this update, the HERO7 Black broadcasts directly to the platform. Users can access the YouTube panel live and interact by chat without losing the thread during the experience. IMPORTANT: To broadcast live on YouTube, you will need to have 1,000 followers on our channel.

How to create an access point on our smartphone?

Creating an access point requires following certain steps on our mobile devices. It is possible to configure an access point whether we use a mobile with ANDROID or IOS.

If your device is an iPhone with IOS, here you will find how to create an access point, click here.

If your device is a smartphone with ANDROID, here you will find how to create an access point, click here.

We may need the help of our telephone operator as technical support to successfully configure our access point.

To make the process even easier, a new meter, in the GoPro App, shows you the coverage of the live broadcast, so you can anticipate if you can go from the starting resolution of 480p to 720p or 1080p (HERO8 Black). You also have the option to save a high-resolution 1080p copy to the camera’s microSD card. (view image)
